We celebrated Heritage Day here in South African on September 24. As a proud South African, born and bred, my favorite way celebrate is with a traditional South African braai, or barbecue, in the company of family and friends. Some of the tastiest dishes are made on braai grills, including marinated chicken, kabobs, and fish—I’ll post some of my favorite recipes soon!
This year we celebrated with friends from the winery. I am lucky enough to have a number of good friends in the wine-making business – it’s a great place to be. That said, from time to time we like to sit back and enjoy wines rather than be wine connoisseurs!
